Wine lovers usually decant their drink for 2 or 3 hours in order to let it taste better. While it is not possible for everyone to wait that long, here is a way to deal with that. Eisch glassware company from Germany have launched the Breathable Glass which costs $35 per stem. It is available at Bed, Bath & Beyond stores.
It gives the wine an oxygenizing treatment and thus the wine quickly interacts with oxygen and taste like it has been decanted for 2 or 3 hours. If you are not a wine connoisseur though, you might not realize what the decantation is actually doing. Tongues that are thickened by beer and whiskey, and lots of cigarettes can hardly make out the difference between fresh wine and decanted wine.
If you belong to this category, these glasses make no difference. Nevertheless, it is pretty cool to be able to drink wine in a glass that seems like a hi-tech device, if you can call it with all the techy terms like “oxygenization” etc going in there. The Eisch glasses look real nice ad eve if you don’t care for the taste, you could still buy them.
