Broadcom Takes A Bold Leap For Google Android Operating System

One of the biggest names in networking hardware, Broadcom has announced the introduction of an all new processor along with a bundle of software for the Google Android mobile operating platform. It has also put in support for the state of the art Bluetooth 3.0 technology as well as Wifi Direct. The all new Bluetooth 3.0 takes advantage of the new wifi standards and thus effectively increases the bandwidth speed of the Personal Area Network (PAN) from 2.1M bps to an impressive 20M bps.

The Wifi Direct technology allows users to connect their smartphones and PCs to conduct LAN client activities, without having to utilize a direct access point. Ever since the launch of the Google Android system in the year 2008, the OS has seen an incredible demand in smartphones as well as portable devices and many experts believe that, this mobile mobile platform will now be gaining further momentum and by the year 2012, Google Android could very well become the second most preferred mobile operating system after Symbian.

Broadcom is expected to demonstrate the new software, processor and other services that the company has been working on at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. The event will also showcase the company’s latest innovation, BCM4751, which is a brand new Global Positioning System (GPS) chip, that has been designed specifically for mobile devices and is said to be extremely energy efficient.
