While it is stale news that the entire evidence for waging war against Iraq was fabricated, new evidence has come up which reveals that Bush and Dick Cheney encouraged and suggested various torture methods to get the prisoners at various torture camps to lie. These lies were acceptances about terror involvements, forced testimonials that were baseless and other ghastly “evidences” which were used to wage war and to protect themselves.
The prisoners were subjected to total sensory deprivation, mental, physical and sexual abuse, torture, murders and other forms of abuses, which have been termed unlawful under the Geneva conventions. Thus, the entire war and its mechanism was built upon the false and fake testimonies and “proofs” forced out of victims imprisoned in camps like the one at Guantanamo.
It is up to Obama to make sure all these wrongs are undone and the victims compensated. However, he seems to be basking in the glory of being a “historical president” himself. Unfortunately, the vicious circle of imperialism, lies, torture and muscling one’s way through seems to continue and rather intensify.
