No matter how many cars or other automobiles are coming up, bicycles continue to remain the hot favorite green transport. We’ve seen many bikes on trendsupdates so far, but this stands apart from all of them because, this bike is made out of bamboo. After molding it into furniture, cutting boards, skateboards, snowboards and houses, the world’s fastest growing woody plant is now carved to make a handmade bicycle frame.

Winner of the Peoples’ Choice Award at the North American Handmade Bicycle Show, the bike comes with three different frames, with road, triathlon, and cross geometries in addition to a mountain bike frame. California based Calfee Design, the bike’s creator, asserts that “If there were an award for “Bicycle with lowest carbon footprint” (least amount of carbon dioxide emissions in the production of the frame), this frame would win, hands down” and I totally agree with them. The lugs of the frame are made of hemp fiber and layered with polyurethane sealant.

The mountain bike frame features an 80 mm travel suspension fork and will fit 29″ tires, in case you want them. Built only on order, this eco-bike costs a fortune and comes with a 10-year warranty. Now, that’s a long time, right!
