When it comes to social networking sites, no site has received as much popularity or has come under as much criticism as Facebook. With Facebook being blocked from office computer and even some countries, it seems that anyone would be insulted just for being associated with Facebook in some way.
Recently, Facebook users received a nasty shock when it was hacked into and complete strangers gained access to personal information of some users. Now, a team from MIT claim they have developed a software that can reveal the sexual orientation of any user. Facebook users, especially those who have something to hide for whatever reason may be, may cower in fright but the truth is that this much flaunted and talked-about technology is truly nothing special. According to the software titled Gaydar, users with a higher number of homosexual friends were most likely to be gay. Is that surprising in any way?!
Like most networking sites, Facebook allows users to take control of who can view their profile and users who do not wish strangers to view their friends list can merely select this option. So, unless you give a damn about being called gay you really need not bother immediately heading over to your Facebook account and deleting all your gay friends! I guess this means all the gay-friendly individuals are also ‘most likely gay’ according to the Facebook Gaydar.
