Its rich history is only second to the panoramic views of white-tipped mountain and green hillsides that lend the view of expansive beaches. Following Spanish tradition, Tenerife also lays proud claim to amazing architecture.

Casa de la Juventud (House of Youth) de Los Silos which completed construction in late 2005 is one such building. Taking inspiration from the modern age, Casa de la Juventud is a majestic building that is styled to include all of the modern necessities while still maintaining a hint of antiquity.

Designed by Lavin Architects, the building revolves around the theme of light. Ventilation and natural lighting has been given the highest priority, making the house appear to light ethereally from within. The view of the mountains nearby disappearing into the clouds makes it appear as though the house is floating in mid-air. No doubt, the beauty of the surroundings adds to that of the house. However, the best thing about the building is that it does not appear to stand in isolation as a man-made structure but seems to take birth from the Tenerife soil.
