If you were wondering where AMD vanished at the CES 2009, you must remember that the company can be very elusive when it comes to big events. However, this time, they used the CES 2009 to come up with their new mobile GPUs. They have launched a series of graphics chipsets to be used on notebooks.
The ATI Mobility Radeon 4000 series looks impressive enough and may replace their previous version of chipsets. Gamers can make use of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4850 and 4870 and others can use the 4670 and the 4650. The 4800 line release a lot of heat but the lower ones do not, if that makes any difference to you.
All the 4800 chipsets come with GDDR5 memory, which definitely is better than the GDDR3 found in the previous versions. Looks like gamers and other graphics maniacs can have a great time with these chipsets.
