CES 2009 had not seen many robots being released and this time, Anybots released their telepresence robot called the QA. It has an attractive body and looks almost like an apple. The bot can move around at 6 miles an hour and when it gets knocked down, it quickly recuperates and moves on.

It has a screen which shows who is talking and the user could be in any part of the world and when connected in internet, his or her face would appear in the screen. Looks like a great robot, but I wouldn’t know how much it costs and when it would be released if you asked me now.

In fact, it is rather unclear, the technology used in the robot and how the telepresence takes place. The company however hopes to keep the price range around $30,000, like it was a modest price, ‘to be hoped’. Sigh.
