CES 2009: EMTEC announces Cool New Mobile Netbook

If you were wondering if there were any more mobile netbooks available at the CES 2009, well there you go! EMTEC has announced their Gdium Mobile Netbook which weighs just 2.6 pounds and comes with a decent screen of 10″. The Gdium runs totally on open source software and hence you would not have to pay insane amounts of money for Windows and the like.

The software include Mozilla, Thunderbird, Open Office Suite by Sun, and also the Mandriva Linus OS. The Gdium comes with a 512MB RAM and 3 USB ports. It also comes packed with a webcam, Wi-Fi, SD Card slots and many more features. The design looks good and will cost about $400, which is also quite understandable.

However, the Gdium may have to compete with Asus D200 and the like. Nevertheless, it is an interesting product and we would love to hear more about it. It is not known when the Gdium will be shipped.
