As the CES 2009 is flooded with cool products, it also witnesses the world’s first “carbon neutral” mobile phone. This phenomenal mobile phone is being unveiled at the CES 2009 by Motorola.
The carbon neutral is not the only feature to generate interest about the product. Apparently the company has joined hands with Carbonfund.org in order to off-set the emissions, which are used to manufacture, distribute and operate the phone. Apart from the mobile phone being carbon neutral, it also comes with copious eco friendly features. For example, the plastics used in the phone’s casing are made from recycled water bottles, which is 100% recyclable at the end of its life. What a cool way to encourage process of recycling!
As you might have guessed by now that the phone is very green and environmentally friendly, its weight was reduced by 22% at the time of packaging. It also uses 100% post-consumer recycled paper that also includes the printed materials that come with it. Like any other mobile phone manufacturers now do, they also include a postage-paid envelope. You can use this for sending in your old phone for recycling. You can purchase it from T-Mobile later in the quarter and at a “reasonable” price.
