CES 2009: Zany Handsfree Accessory Serves no Purpose

At the CES 2009, people also had the option to check out some zany products like the Cell Mate. The guys at GearLog have literally lambasted not just the product, but also their website. The Cell Mate is a piece of metal and Velcro which allows you to strap your cellphone to the ear so that you can drive hands free. Now that certainly may be uncool, but the company may have had a different thought about it.

However, the market is already flooded with great hands free products and hence there wasn’t need to launch a weird product like this at the CES 2009. What I find most funny is not the product but the way the blogger has attacked the company’s website. The company’s website is hosted for free by GoDaddy and that may say a lot about the company. For starters, these guys are real cheap.

Well, the product also does not come with any instructions about how to use it, which may leave the company with the benefit of doubt. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t be seen dead having a cellphone strapped to my ears while I drive.
