CES 2010: Dell Introduces An All New Tablet PC, Dell Mini 5

The Consumer Electronics Show 2010 (CES)in the last four days has witnessed numerous expected launches and also some of the most unexpected announcements, thus opening new venues of opportunities and giving consumers a wide choice of gadgets and technologies to choose from. One of such unexpected announcements is of an all new tablet PC from one of the biggest names in desktops and laptops, Dell Inc.

At the keynote speech event, Dell introduced the world to its latest creation, the Dell Mini 5, which in continuation of Dell’s constant effort to tap into the smart mobile devices market. The Dell Mini 5 will be composed of an impressive 5 inch display screen and not surprisingly, will be running Google Android, which has fast become the preferred OS for the latest mobile devices. The company is also fiddling with the idea of a different display screen than the one displayed the CES and has confirmed that, the device will have a SIM card slot, providing the Mini 5 the functions of a mobile phone as well.

This latest gizmo from Dell will also be embedded with a standard 5 mega pixel camera and with the 5 inch screen in place by default, the users will be able to surf the web as they would in any other tablet, with the help of the wifi connectivity provided to the device. all the while having the feature of a smart phone at their fingertips. Dell is also planning to try out the device with much bigger screen sizes, that of 10 and 12 inches, but nothing has been confirmed as yet, not even the launch date or even the estimated price of the Mini 5.
