CES 2010: Google Nexus One Smartphone Announced

Google Nexus One is the much talked about cellphone since yesterday when they announced it. It is a pretty good hone and can compare to the iPhone and the Motorola Droid, but is nothing extraordinary. The Nexus One sure looks great and chic, and thus it can compare to the iPhone in the looks department. Moreover, the Google Nexus One smartphone is being touted to be a superphone, and an example of how things should be, and I do not understand what they mean by these inflated statements.

It comes with a 5 megapixel camera, 3.7 inch screen, Qualcomm’s 1GHZ Snapdragon processor and a microSD card slot. It would be sold with a pre-condition or it would be sold unlocked. Unlocked would of course be in the range of $500 to $600. In the U.K. it would have a price plan with Vodafone, which means it is going to suck a bit.

The phone would run on Android 2.1, and it compares favourably with other Android based phones, but it remains at just that. It compares favourably but is NOT an extraordinary phone as it is being made out to be. The Droid apparently is better than the Nexus One in the communications and network department. So, if you are a fan of Google, you could buy it and if you are not there are options plentiful.
