CES 2010: Panasonic Announces Partnership with DirecTV

At the CES 2010, Panasonic announced a partnership with DirecTV which would allow users to access 3D content via satellite. All one needs to do is get a software update on the existing set top boxes. Initially all the subscribers get to enjoy 3D content from 3 different channels and also many other material.

There would also be on-demand content and this would mean more freedom and choice for subscribers. 3D content on the TV is growing at an exponential speed and this partnership could indicate a shift in the trends. 3D content is quite popular in most households, especially those with children and young adults.

Panasonic will also partner with Fox Sports in order to bring the previews of MLB Al Star Game. By 2011, you could expect more content from channels like AEG, CBS, Golden Boy Promotions, HDNet, MTV, NBC Universal, and Turner Broadcasting. There is nothing better than grabbing a bowl of popcorn and sitting on the couch and waste away in front of the TV watching 3D content, and I am sure many couch potatoes would agree with me.
