The Consumer Electronics Show 2010 (CES) has practically become the launchpad for a torrent of e-book readers and the list just keeps growing. One of the biggest manufacturers of consumer electronic products, Samsung has also made its mark in the e-book era, as the company has unveiled two new e-book readers at the CES, that are both stylus enabled.

The new e-book readers from Samsung, E6 and E101 are both wifi supported and feature bluetooth connectivity as well and due to the fact that, Samsung has entered into a partnership with Google Books, the chances are that the two device could have pre-loaded content as well.

According to Young Bae (Director, Display Marketing, Samsung Information Technology Division),

“We’ve used our expertise to create a high-quality e-book with today’s on-the-go consumer in mind. Samsung is addressing a common frustration that users experience with many of today’s digital readers with a stylus that allows them to annotate their favorite works or take notes. Coupled with wireless functionality that enables sharing of content, this is a truly multi-faceted device..”

The all new Samsung E6 and E101 e-book readers are the first of their kind to have writing capability via the means of a stylus, thus providing the users with the added benefits of scribbling annotations, maintain calendar events, among other tasks. The stylus pen devised for the Samsung e-book readers has been designed specifically to help avoid mistypes and accidental imprints of the pen on the pages. The E101 model features a 10 inch touch screen and the E6 has a six inch screen that have been devoid of a back lit display in an effort to the provide the readers with a natural reading ambiance and at the same time making the e-readers highly energy efficient. Both E6 and E101 models of Samsung e-book reader will be available shortly and will cost $399 and $699, respectively.
