Soon there will be a time when paperbacks and books that we reads today will become relics and will be replaced with e-book readers in every home, school, office, institution, universities etc. The launch of e-book readers such as Amazon’s Kindle and Nook from Barnes & Noble, has ushered in a new era of state of the art and multi-functioning e-readers, that would not only change the way we look at books as of now, but will also revolutionize the world of e-books. If that’s not enough, with the Google Books project, there are now numerous titles available on the net to be read and downloaded.
The Consumer Electronics Show 2010 (CES) showed how much the e-reader phenomenon is catching up with today’s modern hi-tech lifestyle. Even Jason Pinter at the Huffington Post agrees to the fact that, e-reader are here to stay and create an all new book reading trend. In his post, Mr. Pinter states, “I state my belief that e-readers have the fantastic opportunity to bring in a brand new readership, increasing the overall book market by leaps and bounds.”
I personally prefer actual books than e-readers, but recently after using one myself, I have come to respect and prefer these nifty devices and the features they represent. Therefore, in the spirit of e-reading, here is a compilation of the top five must have e-book readers featured at the CES 2010.

- The all new e-book reader, called LIBRARY had been the center of attention at the CES 2010. This latest addition to the long list of e-readers has been designed by Steve Yang Ze-Siao and sports a unique feature, due to which the users can in reality flip the pages of the book. This not only provides more comfort, but keeps the user in tune to the world of books. The LIBRARY has been provided with a keyboard as well, making the search process a breeze and the bookmarks to be used for the titles can be viewed even when the e-reader is closed.

- One of the leading names in consumer electronic products, Samsung was also not behind in the field of e-readers as it announced the launch of two new e-readers, the Samsung E6 and E101 that became an instant hit, as the device are the first in the category to employ a stylus with the e-readers, thus providing the users with added benefit of scribbling notes onto the e-readers. Both models are highly energy efficient and feature bluetooth and wifi connectivity.

- Another magnificent product to see the light of day at the CES 2010 was not one but two e-book readers from Paradigm Shift Sourcing and Manufacturing and the most astounding feature of these new devices is the colored display that is sure to make them an instant hit. Furthermore, the new e-readers are capable of by passing DRM content and will be included with 1GB of storage capacity.

- The famous COOL-ER collection of e-book readers from Interead was also announced to have new additions of e-readers. The company took lessons from the current trends and has also provided wifi connectivity to the new e-readers and later announced crucial updates to the e-readers currently in distribution.

- The e-book category at the CES 2010 witnessed the introduction of an all new display technology applied to the new e-reader from Skiff and Sprint, that would provide the users with an impressive 1200 x 1600 pixels (UXGA) resolution, due to the implementation of foil-display technology, thus replacing the conventional display screens with a sheet of stainless steel foil.
