CES 2011: Motorola Unveils An All New 4G Enabled Android Powered Tablet

The year 2011 is now officially the year of tablets as more and more companies are now coming out with new state of the art tablets. At the Consumer Electronics Show 2011 (CES 2011) in Las Vegas, there been a plethora of cutting edge tablets, that not only represent the best of mobile technology and breathtaking designs. You may recall the LG Honeycomb tablet that were covered on our CES 2011 series, along with four new tablets to be introduced at the event from Asus. Now, one of the leading names in mobile industry, Motorola, is all set to introduce an all new tablet device called Xoom at the CES event.

Xoom from Motorola will be running on Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system and will benefit greatly from Verizon Wireless’s extremely anticipated 4G network, thereby providing users with blazing fast mobile broadband speeds. As against the other tablets being unveiled at the CES 2011, this new device will feature an impressive 10.1 inch high definition screen and will be powered by a dual core processor. Also, the device will carry a front facing camera for video calls and a rear 5MP camera for images and HD video recording. Motorola’s incredible new tablet will also feature full Flash support and will also come with wifi connectivity. As Android Honeycomb has been designed specifically for tablet, it would indeed be a different experience.

The Xoom is expected to hit the markets in the first quarter of this year and initially the tablet will work on Verizon’s 3G network. However, as the 4G network expands, users will be able to upgrade their Xoom to this new level of mobile broadband network.
