Chariot: Wearable Self Balancing Vehicle By Exmovere Holdings

This appears to be the week for launching self-balancing vehicles. The Segway and GM collaboration P.U.M.A project which we featured was about a self-balancing vehicle for the roads. This self balancing vehicle is more a clothing than a vehicle since it is wearble.

The Chariot conceptualised by Exmovere Holdings is a wearable transportation device designed for amputees and others who have trouble standing. The two wheeled vehicle is self balancing and is battery powered with a maximum speed of 12mph. The Chariot allows for usability within offices and other public places since it does not require steering by hand and thus leaves the user with his hands free for daily work. The Chariot is fitted with sensors inside the shell of the vehicle which can predict the direction the user intends to take from subtle movements of the lower torso and hips.

When standing within the Chariot, the user would be at about eye level with others. The Chariot may soon become a real product if Exmovere partners with an automotive manufacturer, as it currently intends.
