One of the most rapidly progressive country in South East Asia, China is now the home to one of its biggest and most ambitious project to promote the sporting events in the country. We are talking about the Hangzhou Sports Park. Hangzhou has been the center of Chinese government’s attention in regards to the development of he city, which has fast become a major financial hub of China.
The Hangzhou Sports Park has been designed by NBBJ in collaboration with CCDI and the entire structure will occupy a total land mass of 400,000 square-meter site on the Qian Tang riverfront. The current project is a big leap in regards to the Chinese architectural concepts as the new sports park will be a marvel of engineering that would create a sustainable and welcoming public space. The construction of the Hangzhou Sports Park was initiated in December 2009 and is expected to be finished by the year 2013.
This one of a kind structure in China will be more than just a sports park and will provide the citizens with open space, walking trails, a tennis facility, retail space, community playing fields and an extreme sports area.
