Can you ever imagine traveling on a plane by standing throughout your journey? Perhaps, this could be an option that a Chinese private airline called ‘Spring Airlines’ may provide you to save some money as it will sell its tickets at a cheaper rate for those who opt to stand. Apparently, the airline has only 13 planes, with ever increasing number of passengers to be carried to and from new routes.
Unfortunately, if this ever happens then, you will not be provided a seat, no baggage consignment, no food, and no water, except for a seat belt. While on the other side, if this happens, the standing jet can accommodate 40% more passengers than any other traditional planes. This will enable the airline to cut 20% costs, while still able to lower airfares for the passengers simultaneously. According to Wang Zhenghua, the president of Spring Airlines, the plan may be approved as it has been suggested by Zhang Dejiang, China’s vice premier.
The airline has already consulted Airbus, which built most of its airplanes, and the proposals have been confirmed safe. Should the airline get formal approval from the government, it will move ahead with its plans. I only hope this doesn’t happen ever as it will be like traveling on a bus. It will be still worse if one has to stand and travel a long distance. I really fail to comprehend why Spring Airlines had to come up with this bizarre suggestion.
