Here is something new in the arena of auto industry but closely connected with the web. Most drivers have toyed with the idea of using Internet and computers while on the go in cars but rarely has a company come forward and enabled web technology in their cars. Chrysler has announced a ‘web edition’ package designed for its cars and it comes with a net connection thanks to the Autonet Mobile router, which is also being touted as the Chrysler uConnect Web.

The entire package consists of a Sony PSP, 8GB iPod Touch and the most important Dell Mini 9 notebook. Well, the gear also consists of a digital camera whose reason for presence I can’t understand. They also have a leaner version, which comes with the Dell Mini 9 notebook, and a router for those not interested in everything listed above.

The Web Edition full package costs $1,999 and the leaner version would cost $1,100. This could help people try using net in cars and it is sure to be a hit among drivers. I bet many other automobile companies will soon follow suit and would launch their own versions of web-enabled cars.
