One of the leading names in networking and advanced communications, Cisco, has announced the introduction of an all new Internet networking system, called Cisco CRS 3 Carrier Routing System (CRS). The all new CRS 3 technology has been designed and developed to bring a new revolution to the Internet and provide incredible growth to video transmission, mobile devices and new online services for many years to come. The CRS 3 system will be able to handle more than 12 times the traffic maintained by the current generation networking systems and thus would provide a new, more advanced platform for service providers, consumers and workplaces.

The CRS 3 system will be succeeding its predecessors, the CRS 1 networking system and will be able to provide up to 322 terabits per second of connectivity, that in itself is a phenomenal achievement. According to Cisco, the new network system, could in theory allows the users to download the entire Library of Congress content in more than a second and could also stream an entire full length movie in under four minutes.

The entire Cisco CRS-3 system is powered by the company’s home grown Cisco QuantumFlow Array Processor, that provides the performance of up to six processors, all rolled into one. This enables the new system to give incredible levels of service and processing power.

According to Cisco,

“With more than 12 times the traffic capacity of the nearest competing system, the Cisco CRS-3 is designed to transform the broadband communication and entertainment industry by accelerating the delivery of compelling new experiences for consumers, new revenue opportunities for service providers, and new ways to collaborate in the workplace.”
