Friends of the Earth, Belgium have undertaken a big campaign demanding for strong climate laws. They are spreading a message asking everyone to sign-up petition at bigask.be and thus urging Belgium government to amend climate laws and reduce carbon emission.

The above print ad ‘Polar bear’ is a part of the same campaign. This is a hard-hitting picture of Polar bear without its white coat. It implies heat will become unbearable and force bear to shed its fur. But future is bleaker than this. Not only the soft coat the polar bears will disappear as well. Not just polar bears, all life on earth will soon be extinct. Earth may soon become inhabitable and hostile.

Every little effort counts when the issue is as urgent as environmental degradation, global warming and climate change. And governments can do a lot by implementing stronger laws and making it mandatory to cut down carbon emission. Apart from scientists and experts, it is people’s initiative and activism which can force government to make changes at policy levels. Social/environmental advertising and green campaigns are the need of the hour to create awareness. Good news is going green is becoming trendy at all levels.
