According to Climate Change scientific experts, the sea levels will rise much higher than the earlier estimates by UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Well, this is not good news to people living in low lying areas, which is nearly 10 percent of the world’s populations.

The latest studies of Polar ice sheets at Greenland and Antarctica show that accelerated loss of ice-sheets, more melting in last decade. The rise could be three times more than what has been predicted by IPCC. So instead of 59 cm it could be way above I meter. The sea levels are already rising more than 3mm a year. These forecasts definitely point to hotter future and changed weather pattern.

Global warming and Climate change cannot be reversed. So as planet gets hotter even the best of predictions may go haywire. One has to put in best of efforts to at least control the factors such as carbon emission and switch over to more sustainable eco friendly way of life to minimize human contribution. Consequences and changes in weather pattern can be disastrous and will be felt by everyone.
