Conficker Stays Aloof, Till Now

The recent threat of the Conficker virus disabling all the computers worldwide has remained unfounded. Thankfully nothing serious has been reported ever since and Microsoft had even offered a bounty for those who could capture the author of the malicious software.

The Conficker worm has nevertheless attacked about 3 million computers till now and it should have become more aggressive after April fool’s Day. The software can steal passwords, credit card information, and even bank information from the infected computers. This horror story has not however been a large scale problem and perhaps the damage done is nonetheless quite tragic.

This calls for stringent action against hackers, malicious software authors, and other cyber crime perpetrators who cause immense anxiety and disturbance to computer users. Critical information f leaked out can ruin lives. Before resting in peace we really need to make sure that the Conficker virus will not turn virulent anymore. The April fool’s Day is slowly coming to a close and perhaps the horror is over.
