Consumers Flock To Pernod Ricard’s Stand At The Viking Line Whisky Fair

Pernod Ricard Travel Retail was a big hit at the 2011 edition of the Viking Line Whisky Fair. The annual fair which took place on board the Viking Line Cinderella while it sailed down the Scotland to Aland Island route, witnessed passengers queuing up for a taste of Pernod Ricard’s whiskies. On the menu were several malts and blended whiskies. Among the better-known names that were up for grabs were The Glenlivet, Aberlour, Jameson, Chivas Regal and Ballantine’s.

Passengers could not only sample whiskies but purchase them as well. Pernod Ricard Travel Retail had a well-placed, prominent stall that was a good nine metres long. There were several rare and specialty whiskies up for sale as well.

Christian Lon, the Europe Area Marketing Manager of Pernod Ricard Travel Retail mentioned that consumers showed great interest for Pernod Ricard’s portfolio of whiskies. He also said that although most consumers tasted and bought Scotch whisky, several showed interest in Jameson Irish whiskies.

However, it was not just about tasting and buying. There were whisky master classes being held. As many as 3,000 consumers attended these glasses, gaining expert insight into the beloved drink. Whisky brand ambassador Peter Kjaer held the first class, where he talked about The Glenlivet flavour experience. The second class was conducted by the brand ambassador of Chivas Brothers, the theme being ‘Chivas Regal Luxury of Time’, a journey into the world of the Chivas Regal brand.

The attendees at the fair were also invited to sign up for The Glenlivet Guardians, an online club that updates consumers about new products and activities.
