You must have heard about hotels turning out to be bad, and you must have heard about hotels turning out worse. However, have you heard of a hotel which is advertised as a luxury hotel and when you check in, you realize that the bathroom is flooding, beds have stains of human waste, and the room stinks without any furniture? Well, it is possible in countries of South Asia, but in the heart of Britain? You may think not.
A Costessey couple went to Clacton-on-Sea, Essex for their honeymoon and planned to stay at the town’s city centre Travelodge for 2 days. After Emma and Darren Fish checked in Travelodge, they were horrified to find the hotel room in the sorry state described above and left without spending even a night.
However, Sprowston Manor Marriot Hotel came forward to “gift” them with a honeymoon package. Now, the hotel certainly was a sad affair, but if the couple weren’t honeymooning and if someone else went through the same inconvenience, would a rival hotel come forward to give away a honeymoon package? Certainly not. It is good old marketing and sales pitch dahlin’!
