Jason Calacanis has just begun the This Week in Startups show and interviewed his best friend Brian Alvey, who is the developer of Weblogs. While it is interesting that the Weblog platform has given rise to such multitude of content management systems, Alvey himself is credited with creating almost 21 content management systems in all. The one that is in news lately is the Crowdfusion, which will directly compete with WordPress and Typepad.
It is more than just a blogging platform and combines other features from Wiki, and such other software. It would be interesting how and where this conten management system can be applied and used. The company has just been started and the new CMS has already generated a lot of interest among web publishers.
WordPress has been giving a lot of problems to web publishers and partly this is because of its simplistic approach. Crowdfusion aims to be the CMS for any publisher and satisfy even complex needs. You could also wait and watch for other videos on This Week in Startups.
