The wind driven cyclone Aila has caused enough damage in Bangladesh and the death toll has been reported to up to 62. The storm has battered the coastal areas and has displaced thousands of people living in the costal areas.

The winds that travel 90 km an hour have caused havoc in these areas. More than 500 fishermen are said to be missing. The tidal waves measure up to 13 feet high and have washed away thousands of houses. Places like Bhola, Khulna, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Barguna, Barisal, Pirojpur etc are affected by this cyclone.

Along with their homes, the people in this region have lost their crops, domestic animals. Agriculture and fishing being the only source of livelihood in this part of the world, this cyclone Aila has uprooted many lives. The rehabilitation is going to take a while. The cyclone has inundated a vast area of the land. The powerful waves damaged flood control embankments, dykes and washed away villages in Satkhira, Barisal, Khulna and Patuakhali. The rage of this monsoon has proved to be taxing not only in Bangladesh but also in its neighboring country India.
