Internet dating scene has certainly helped too many people to come together, meet in real and get busy with the fizzy and move on to the next attractive person. However, the rules of dating have not changed much, and the Internet has only underlined what it always took to have a great dating life: charm, good looks, being good in bed and of course a little bit of money.
However, the ones that actually work behind the computers, those who design the games, build softwares, and those who are actually INTO geeky stuff in their real lives are still lacking in their social and dating lives, if they even have one.
Take for example Brian, who has moved to New York City from Wisconsin who has let himself be the butt of every possible joke on earth. He has declared himself “available” for dates, and claims he has no experience in dating whatsoever for he is from Wisconsin. Now, it is a rather odd and lame excuse to not have dated ever.
Honey, probably you should hit the gym, get a haircut, wear better clothes, speak well, and stop relying on crowdsourcing and social networking?
Under the garb of a new social experiment, titled Dating Brian, it did start out as a joke with his friends. It is not just the dates that he would get online, but would actually ask his followers on Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites for advice about what needs to be done on each of the 30 dates he plans to engage in 30 days.
Dahlin’, 30 dates in 30 days is a LOT OF DATES for you? Contact me sometime and I shall tell you how I get picked up on the streets several times a day when I strut my stuff and maybe you could do that too, but only if you gave up wearing those girlie capris!
I am not really sure if it is a marketing gimmick, a desperate attempt to get more people to add him on Twitter/Facebook, get views to his website, or if he is plain ridiculous. I am sure even a nerd like that would know he really would not be going too far with such an “experiment”. On the other hand, I ominously feel he could actually be a hit, for New York City must be full of nerdy and geekish singles who are either aesthetically or socially challenged, or both.
PS: He is straight.
