Nowadays, more and more enterprises are making efforts to turn to more energy efficient and environmental friendly ways of working. Be it IBM, GE or Google, such big companies have taken upon themselves to ensure that, people across the globe are made more aware of the environmental hazards and and how to overcome them.
In the spirit of the ‘Go Green’ project, Dell Inc. has now officially made its parking lot a more energy efficient one, with the installation of a 130 KW package of solar trees for its headquarters building in Round Rock, Texas. The cluster of the solar panels in the parking lot are known as Solar Groove.
The project had been undertaken by McBride Electric and Envision Solar in partnership with BP Solar and Weitz Company, who then designed and developed the Dell Solar Groove. The all new parking lot is consisted of Envision Solar’s CleanCharge solar charging stations, that employs the Coulomb ChargePoint on order to provide charging points for electric and hybrid vehicles, that run electric power. The two CleanCharge stations will act as a refueling point for such vehicles, that ca charge their batteries and get clean, green energy.
The entire project is expected to help Dell Inc. avoid the realest of 145,000 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions per year and would also help the HQ ti run many of its operation via the solar power produced clean energy.
