After the immensely successful release of Apple iPhone OS 3.0, Apple has now rolled out iPhone OS 3.1 Beta SDK (Software Development Kit) for developers. The iPhone OS 3.0 was released last month and by all standards, it is far more stable than its predecessors and has become quite popular among iPhone users.

The all new iPhone OS 3.1 Beta is supposed to be a patch for the minor bugs and fixes that have been observed in the 3.0 version. Many users and experts are speculating that a major update to the newly launched iPhone OS might already be in the pipeline.
According to the release notes for iPhone OS 3.1 Beta, the MMS function is turned on by default among other minor changes.
Here is an excerpt from the release notes:
“iPhone SDK 3.1 beta and iPhone OS 3.1 beta are now posted to the iPhone Dev Center. These versions are for development and testing only and should be installed on devices dedicated to iPhone OS 3.1 beta software development. Please read the iPhone OS Pre-Install Advisory and the iPhone SDK 3.1 beta release notes before downloading and installing.”
