The founder of the famous social news site of Digg, Kevin Rose, threw at the beginning of this year a new site in that he was working since December of 2008, Wefollow. Basically it is a directory of users of the separate by twitter categories (or tags).
The success of the enterprise was so big that WeFollow was evaluated in a few hundreds of millions of dollars because the number of users grew exponentially since its release.
The secret behind the success? WeFollow comes as a tool of great help for the Twitter users, in the same way that we sought in the search mechanisms for sites, blogs, videos with subjects of our interest. WeFollow allow anyone to find twitters for specific subjects.
However, the site Mashable noticed that WeFollow seems that it is being controlled now by Digg, suggesting that WeFollow now belongs to Digg without any type of financial transaction involved, something that increases the value of the stie Digg in hundreds of millions of dollars.
The fusion of the two sites already opens new possibilities for the famous Digg. An example would be to increase the speed in that the updating of the site due to the speed of updating that happens in Twitter.
