Making things on your own may not be your cup of tea; in fact, just the words Do It yourself (even in its abbreviated 3 letter form) gives you the heebie-jeebies. Even so, if you’re one of those people who has come down with the touch phone bug then you would have to look at this Instructible with interest.

If you’re living in a cold region then you would know how annoying it is to pull off your gloves every time you need to use your touch phone. Even if it isn’t cold, all glove lovers (read bikers) would know that love-hate feeling. Whether you’re good with a needle or completely hopeless, Grathio gives a few simple instructions on how to get to working on your touch phone without having to remove your gloves. All you need is some conductive thread and a needle, and voila!

Thread a needle with about 12” of conductive thread, turn your gloves inside out and stitch a small round area about ¼” in diameter. While stitching, make sure that the stitches outside are neat and mimic the tip of your finger while the spot inside is less neat. Leave some extra conductive thread on the inside to make more contact with your naked finger. If you’re in the habit of using more than one finger, then do the same with the rest of the fingers. Now you’re set to use you iPhone without taking off your gloves!
