For some reason that nobody knows why, the Gmail development team takes a day a week and implements a lot of news at once.
The first is that Google added to Gmail just now a new tool that allows tighter integration between Gmail and Google calendar service. Now, instead of having to go to the Calendar to send invitations to events, parties, coffees, lunch, dinner and movies, just open Gmail and write the contents of the message. After that, just click Insert: Invitation to add information regarding the event for those you want to send.
When the recipient receives it, he or she has the option to confirm that it will, or will deny that mark as Maybe. It works similar to Google Apps, Google’s solution for businesses.
Another novelty, which is only available for Mozilla Firefox 3.6 and Google Chrome, is the announcement that Gmail is replaced by something very interesting: Drag and drop for attachments. This means that, with two windows open (one browser and another from a folder on your computer), you will be able to drag files from side to side.
And the best part is that the user will be able to drag and drop multiple attachments at once. Gmail, however, continues with a limit of 25MB total attachment in each message.
