Planning to spend an evening in the midst of evergreens softly swaying among their branches? Try camping in Dutch sculptor and designer Dré Wapenaar’s new raindrop shaped Treetents which were initially designed for tree-setting activists would now make exceptional tree house tents for kids. Each of these droplets can be conveniently suspended to tree trunks and are spacey enough for a small family.

Composed of canvas wrapped around a steel frame, Treetents stand thirteen feet tall with a diameter of 9 foot. The interior has a hardwood sleeping platform with a round mattress on which two adults and two children can comfortably slumber. The designer says that these tree house tents were originally designed for Road Alert Group activists in England who oppose construction of highways through forests, to provide a comfortable place for them to live and hide on trees.

Wapenaar further reveals that the tents developed themselves naturally when he hung a circular platform with a rope on the side of a tree. These Treetents are available for rent 5 months in a year in Netherlands at the Hertshoorn campground. Now, who wouldn’t love to camp in a dew drop!
