Eco Cooking from Philips Inspired by Japanese Teppanyaki

Ever thought your cooking could go green in a real way? Meaning, low energy consumption, low waste generation, and most importantly, knowing how much energy you have used up on that home appliance so that you ration your use. Here comes Green Cuisine, if it were an answer to your eco cooking hopes. If you wish to know what The Green Cuisine is all about, you need to know at least a bit about the Japanese Teppanyaki steakhouse style of cooking and serving.

For, Green Cuisine takes its inspiration from there. Teppanyaki is generally a fun idea for a home party, where cooking and eating can be done in the same place. No extra dining area, but a concept where hosts and guests get comfortable in the cooking area where preparing food and consuming it form a part of the eco-routine.

Philips Design has used Teppanyaki style in bringing out appliances such as Healthy Steamer, Smart Kettle and Cups, and Cooking Modules. All appliances work together on an interactive kitchen table. The integrated `performance indicator’ actually displays energy consumption while you cook, giving you an idea about the need to cut down on energy use. Such a concept also helps bring down the amount of waste generated. Details of how exactly this interactive cooking system works, will be provided by Philips at a later stage. For now, hope to own this someday soon.
