A new unusual disease emerged in one of the most developed countries of the world.
In the light of candles, the sound of archaic typewriter distune the reality of Sweden. But there, hundreds of people were forced to live as they say in the past, away from all that means technology. They are called electro-sensitive.
“It is a disease of modernity,” said Ulrika Åberg, a specialist in electro-sensibility and also carry the disease. The disease appears in several ways: headache, itching, watery eyes, dizziness, loss of memory.
In the Sweden electro-sensitive are almost 2500, the result is that there is already an association for them. The chairman, Birgitta KNAPE, explains that the Swedes, who live in the far north of the planet, consume more power for illuminating the houses, especially in the long and rigorous winter. They also need heaters and other equipment. All this would have made the disease more common in this country.
Telephones, according to electro-sensitive, are poisons. Moreover, those who really need a cellphone do so: the battery is installed only in time to talk, and even then, with headphones they get as far as possible the object.
The Swedish government still expects new studies to prove whether it is even more a disease or mania, but the city of Stockholm went out in front and has already recognized the as sick people. With this, they began to receive benefits for trying to protect themselves.
You can imagine yourself with such a disease?

I have come across several electro-sensitives in the past ten years, mostly on conferences and lectures when they stood up in the end and told the audience that they “cannot prove it, but the evidence presented in this lecture is wrong”, they “can feel the number of mobile phones present”.
This reminds me of the two studies about mobile phone emissions that had beef forged by Dr. H. Rüdiger of the Vienna University. The guy manipulated the data in such a way that his studies showed a GREATER effect on the DNA than it actually was the case. Of course this alleged effect brought him greater publicity than proving that there was no adverse effect.
Although at least some of the electro-sensitives will argue that their disease cannot be proved or classified by scientific methods I suggest to treat their percieved illness as psychosomatic.
What the city of Stockholm does is dangerous because they fuel a prospering industry of charlatans and witch doctors with tax money. I just saw a badge in a shop the other day that claimed to reduce mobile phone emissions when glued to the back side of one. How it does that when radiation spreads in all directions remains a mystery to me, but it was rather expensive.
BTW, the fact that “specialist” Ulrika Åberg also carries the “disease” is characteristic for the movement, I have not seen an advocate for their beliefs who is unaffected by the “disease”.
I think that electro-sensitives do need help, we must not ridicule them (although it is tempting at times). If it’s fear of our fast and modern times that drives them, sometimes I can not blame them.
