Eminem fans have been wonderi8ng where the dude actually vanished, and after three years away from the limelight, he is back in the spotlight with a new book, and not an album. His memoir, ‘The way I am’ reveals a different side of the controversial singer and his softer side, where he admits that the death of a close friend and mentor ‘Proof’ was the cause for his depression and that made him hide in the oblivion. He even writes about his childhood days where he was the only white kid and the way he was bullied by black children in the neighborhood.

Though none of this is new to his fans who have been studying his lyrics, ir does the job of connecting broken pieces of information we have all been missing. Right now, he seems to be content raising his three girls and taking a backstage from legal controversies and lawsuits against him by his mother. he has even chosen to ignore Kim, his estranged wife.

Slim could be compared to hip hop’s JD Salinger. A true rebel, he has softened but has not become insipid or lukewarm. We all can only wait till his next album is up and till then; we can keep ourselves busy reading ‘The way I am’.

Where’s the parental advisory sticker on this one?! Ah, but I’d still die to get my hands on this one.
