If you are already tired of using the fixed keyboard of your laptop, which doesn’t allow you to remove it then, you can look forward to EvoBook. With this, you can detach the keyboard and place it on the workspace according to your convenience. This idea has been crafted by a South Australian University student.
In this project, he aims to offer an ergonomic solution to the laptop computer with the help of an adjustable screen and keyboard positioning, which will then create a unique product identity. The keyboard could be further split into two parts for convenient usage. Besides, other features of the EvoBook include a 15.5 inch screen, a webcam, an adjustable leg and magnesium/aluminum alloy enclosure. Both the keyboard and the mouse are Bluetooth enabled and operate on a rechargeable battery.
Although the design is innovative, I am rather skeptical if people would really be interested in working with a removable keyboard. As for me, at least of now, I am happy with my fixed keyboard. The amount of time invested on this idea should have been better used to innovate an interesting product.

It’s still a cool idea though. This idea occurred to me one day totally out of the blue, so I’m glad to see it in practice. Not every feature needs to be vital to all users. Sometimes it’s nice just to have something that’s funky, offbeat, or interesting. I could also envision a few applications where a detachable laptop would be useful. If you’re a user who routinely hooks up an external laptop, but who still wants to be portable, then this offers the perfect solution.
