Extreme Sports Uses Extreme Weather

Netherland based Extreme Sports Channel used the recent extreme weather conditions in London to advertise their channel. Guess how? No, it wasn’t print or TV or billboards but they imprinted their logo on the very snow which had brought city to grounding halt!!

Extreme Sports Channel targets youth and focuses on unconventional challenging adventurous adrenalin sports. Channel believes in going to the extreme other end of everything so using extreme weather was a symbolic for more than one reason. Extreme sports are a test of endurance, strength and skills in extreme conditions. Extreme weather did force people to keep an eye on the snow and they had to stay indoors glued to the television sets. So it was perfect timing and setting for an ad campaign. This innovative and creative campaign will really catch balls.

Also in the times of recession such minimal local campaigns carry extra meaning and dimension too. This gives every reason to believe that recession will not affect good advertising. Have imagination and a creative team and you don’t need to spend!!
