One of the biggest social networking services, Facebook is now reportedly testing an all new feature called, Questions, with random users in live mode. This all new feature has been apparently been popping on the home page of the users and works pretty much on the same principle as that of Yahoo! Answers. So far, the entire feature is shrouded in mystery as there are no confirmations whether this new feature will be applicable for users, advertisers or even market researchers.

The ‘Questions’ feature will enable the users to ask a question and then their Facebook friends will be able to provide an answer, a process that is quite similar to other services, such as Yahoo! Answers, Quora. There is a still a lot of confusion in regards to the application’s targeted audience. Some suggest that, this new feature could have been developed for both the users, who could use it for fun and also for advertisers, wherein the publishers would then be able to make money off of sponsored results and at the same it could also add to the revenue of Facebook.

The Questions feature can also be put into the same league as that of a previous Facebook feature called, Polls, that was later withdrawn by Facebook. The Quaora service has been designed and developed by ex-Facebook employees and had recently valued with a net worth of $86 million. If the ‘Question’ feature from Facebook is effort from the social networking giant to compete with Quora, then it could turn out to be a very stiff competition.
