The biggest social networking service on the internet, Facebook, which is one of the few websites that actually take user privacy to the letter is now cracking down hard on the fan pages that have been found to be spamming the affiliated links. Facebook regulators are fast blocking and deleting such pages, apparently in an effort to curb the spamming trend, that has become one of the biggest concerns on social networks.
This new security technique has been implemented to keep Facebook as clean as possible and for all the user who are planning to create Facebook fan pages, it is a stern warning from Facebook to user their pages for what they are worth and not for spamming. For example, as of now, Facebook has over 1,800 pages dedicated to the subject of “weight loss” and against common perception, even the top pages for this topic do not have great number of followers, as the website has been pulling out such pages faster than they are created.
Even though, some of the legitimate fan pages have seen considerable success, especially in terms of monetary gains. This is because, the affiliated links and the popularity of the pages enable the users to reach out to a lot of other users on Facebook and beyond.
