The social networking behemoth, Facebook Inc. it seems has entered into a partnership with the event management group, Eventbrite, that is said to be aimed at the sales on tickets to the 3.5 million event, that posted on Facebook every month. Facebook has apparently decided to take advantage of its immense popularity and Eventbrite’s user base to sell tickets for the upcoming F8 conference and take the partnership between the two entities, a step further.
It is being speculated, that with the current partnership between Facebook and Eventbrite now in effect, the former might begin sending the users to the Eventbrite service to manage their events. Furthermore, Facebook could also easily have uses connect their Facebook accounts with Eventbrite via Facebook Connect. As far as Eventbrite is concerned, the event management service had stated that, for the year 2010, the company was expecting a revenue of $100 million from ticket sales.
This new partnership between one of the biggest names in social networking and an established event management company could prove useful for both of them and even more so, for the users as well. As there are numerous events, that are based entirely on free tickets, Eventbrite also runs a promotional service, wherein the company promotes the free events, without charging a single dime, and calls it viral marketing.
According to message displayed at facebook.eventbrite.com, “Eventbrite is partnering with Facebook to enable you to collect money for your event. Your attendees pay with credit card and Eventbrite collects the money on your behalf and sends you a check when your event is over. We charge a small service fee for every ticket sold. 5.5% + $.99c, which attendees pay, costing you nothing. Eventbrite has helped event organizers around the world sell over 10 million tickets. We’re excited to help you sell your and put some delightful cash in your pocket.”
