Facebook Lite, the simplified version of the site is primarily intended for people with slow connections and is seemed to be doing wonders amongst its users already. The most striking example in Lite is the home page News Feed, although it might not stand out conspicuously for you to notice at first.

Facebook has been going through a lot of changes in the past few months from getting rid of its algorithmically-enhanced feed to creating a number of new features. In Lite, Facebook has named the News Feed as “All Stories” in addition to “Highlights” in its original site. The content of both the feeds are also different in Lite than on the home site. Items from birthdays and events appear at the top of the new feeds.

Many users of Lite say that the speed is much faster on it than the original site. When the speed is fast, many users are bound to like the site since many people tend to get bored of slow speed very soon. At least I do not have the patience to wait for ten second to upload a picture. However, the flip side of Lite is, it is still missing a lot of facilities including apps and pages. The bottom tool bar is missing and hence, there is no easy way to find apps.

No items about apps currently appear in the News Feed. To top it all, popular groups and chat events, which are there on Facebook, are too heavy for Lite to handle. Well, Lite has just begun so it will definitely take some time for them to grow. So, lets’ just be patient and give them the chance to ameliorate soon.
