Facebook had recently started an update procedure in the user profiles, wherein, users are able to see status updates of the people, that they have sent ‘friend requests‘ to, irrespective of acceptance from the receivers’ end. Even though the status updates are being delivered yet, the users aren’t bale to view those profiles, before being accepted as the concerned user’s ‘friend’.
So, basically, it means that, Facebook is now turning towards the Twitter way, in which, Facebook keeps providing updates about users who aren’t in your friend list and thus keeps you aware as to what they have been up to, quite like the “following” feature in Twitter. However, according to many users, this small new feature still ain’t even close to the Twitter methods of operation, as just to get the latest updates from a user, you would still need to add that user as a friend.
The Twitter kind feature as of now is only available in Facebook Pages, where these user created pages are shown in every search results and other users can easily follow the updates of these pages, in their Facebook news feeds.
