Cisco’s FlipShare TV that was presented to the Federal Trade Commission for approval about two months ago is all set to bring videos from the computers to your television sets wirelessly. The whole concept behind the FlipShare TV is to provide the users with the ability to make a connection between their TV sets and the computers with extreme ease.
The FlipShare TV package consists of a USB device that is attached to the computer systems and a receiver fits neatly atop a television set. Cisco has eliminated the need for an active Wifi connection as the device transmits its data via Cisco proprietary USB dongle and the Flip software that needs to be installed on the computer. The other components in the device that actually require a wifi connection have been designed to establish connectivity upto 200 feet, which is incredibly impressive.
The FlipShare TV is expected to begin shipping by the end of this week with a price tag of $150 and is compatible with both Windows and MAC operating systems. According to Jonathan Kaplan (General Manager, Cisco),
“We’re bringing back the home movie night. here’s now a simple and affordable solution to view and share photos and videos on any TV.”
The FlipShare TV operates on the FlipShare 5.0 software that was essentially designed for this device and enables the users to organize, edit, and share the videos over the net or via mobile phones.
