The launch of the all new Apple iOS 4 for mobile devices has sparked a frenzy of new applications, that are much more innovative and easier use than their predecessors. One of the premier location based services, Foursquare, has now launched an all new app for the iOS 4 called, Future Checkin. With the help of this application, users carrying their iPhone devices will automatically be checked in to their most preferred Foursquare locations, without ever having to physically interact with their phones.
This incredibly useful application has been designed by developer, Tim Sears, who had been working on a solution to solve the manual check in issue that, had been a foremost complaint from heavy Foursquare users. These users had been constantly bothered by the fact that, they to interact with their phones to check in to a Foursqaure location, even the ones they most frequented. To access the Future Check in service, a user has to sign on with his Foursquare account, after which the service shows a list of nearby Foursquare locations and there is even an option of searching for your favorite spot. After locating the one you wish to visit, all you have to do is to mark that location in the ‘Favorites’ list. The ‘Favorites’ list is then used by the application to check you in automatically, whenever you are near the location, in a range of 300 meters
According to Tim Sears,
“This app is really designed for people who are getting check-in fatigue, who often forget to check-in to places, or who don’t want to be rude by pulling out their phone in social settings. Who it is not designed for is people trying to cheat Foursquare, so Future Checkin will only check you in to a place once every four hours, and never the same place twice in a row.”
