Recently, the web saw another addition to its growing list of websites that provide users with free SMS capabilities. The newest addition, Tagga, helps its users create innovative, attractive and free SMS campaigns. However, Tagga is changing lanes and with its new SMS business plan, it is reaching out to larger corporations and marketing agencies that are more than willing to pay for such professional SMS campaigns. Now, with the initiative from independent investors from U.S, U.K and Canada, Tagga has got itself $400,000 funding for further expansion.
This is how Tagga works out its SMS campaigns. First, the marketing agency opts a phrase for its SMS, for example, ‘CAR’, the users are then invited to send the SMS ‘CAR’ to 82442, the default phone number for Tagga. The companies for whom such SMS would be created, can then decide the exact message and the content that they would wish the users to see. This can include invitations for the company’s website or can also be used for mass polling on various issues and advertising as well.
According to Tagga CEO Amielle Lake,
“The company swapped models in November after finding that advertisers weren’t yet biting at the chance to appear at the end of the texts.”
The change in Tagga’s business strategies come in the wake of the growing needs of numerous marketing agencies in search of innovative ways of SMS campaigning all across North America.
Tagge enables marketing agencies to create and manage SMS campaigns empowering to take control of the outgoing SMS schedule, voting campaigns, and the creation mobile websites. Tagga also provides troubleshooting related to wireless carriers’ fees and mobile device issues.
