The future of architecture is fast evolving with incredible and awe inspiring buildings built and proposed for the better part of the world. From the tallest tower in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai to the proposed Miapolis in Miami, which is next in line to be bestowed upon with the title of the tallest building in the world, the realm of architectural engineering has taken giant leap into the future.
Now, the bustling city of Boston, the capital of Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the United States is being geared up to receive a floating city in its harbors. The all new Boston Arcology (BOA), the brain child of the legendary structural designer, Kevin Schopfer, has been envisioned as a floating city with a capacity of 15,000 people and as per the proposed idea, the Boston Arcology is expected top have office, museums and a city hall among other vital organizations. The concept of the Boston Arcology calls for the structure to be built in the buoyant Boston harbor with the foundation of the BOA laid down on concrete cells. The insides of the structure would be built on the golden triangle concept and the BOA will be equipped with elevators and moving walkways, to provide its residents with complete mobility.
The Boston Arcology will designed to be 100% environment friendly and the structure has been planned to receive its energy from wind turbines, solar panels, along with the water turbines that would be connected to the Boston harbor.
